I love problem solving! I mean I REALLY love problem solving! This hasn’t always been the case though. I used to dread it because I didn’t have a true understanding of what problem solving was. I used to think that problem solving was a step-by-step problem solving plan that includes underlining the question, circling key words, boxing up the numbers. It was just something we did after I taught the new math concept. But over the years I have learned that problem solving is so much more than that!
True problem solving is all about the THINKING process. It includes making connections, visualizing, determining importance, questioning and being flexible!
My goal for this website is to share different strategies and resources to help your students become true math problem solvers!
